Lauren K. King
Lauren King focuses her practice on Energy and Real Estate Law.
Since 2012, Lauren has consulted and assisted on over $25 billion in oil and gas acquisitions and divestitures, and has helped business development teams, private equity start-ups and corporate boards stand-up oil and gas companies and departments. Lauren’s practice involves drafting and negotiating various contracts related to oil and gas development, including purchase and sale agreements, joint operating agreements and farmouts. Lauren frequently advises clients on litigation risk management and strategy, rendering title opinions and advising on leasing and title issues for both oil and gas and renewable energy projects.
Lauren handles commercial transactional real estate matters, including purchase and sale negotiations, real estate due diligence, loan documentation, and entity formation. She advises on development related activities, site and asset selection and asset management of those assets.
In Lauren’s previous role as General Counsel for a real estate developer, she negotiated purchase and sale agreements and other commercial real estate contracts; and handled all siting and development strategy and negotiation, including seeking approvals from city council and other regulatory bodies.
Lauren graduated from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California and was a Dean’s Merit Academic scholar. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2005. Lauren previously served as General Counsel for a San Francisco, CA based real estate developer, and also served on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Bar Association and chaired the Barristers Club Pro Bono Committee.
Lauren and her husband have two children, she enjoys volunteering at their school and exploring all that Colorado has to offer.
